Often shortened to ASU. This is an insurance policy designed to offer defined benefits to borrowers who find themselves unable to earn income because of one of these reasons. Policies tend to pay out a regular amount for a limited time. They are normally purchased to ensure you can cover your mortgage and other costs if you can't work for health reasons or redundancy.
